US Patent Office Posts New Examiner Jobs Not Covered by Union

The US Patent and Trademark Office posted job openings for at least nine patent examiner roles and a trademark examining attorney Friday, the first openings since a hiring freeze was put in place when President Donald Trump took office in January.

The jobs aren’t remote positions or eligible for telework, according to the listings, which also note the roles aren’t in the bargaining unit covered by a collective bargaining agreement with the Patent Office Professional Association. POPA represents more than 9,000 examiners and other employees.
