The US Supreme Court became the latest court around the world to turn down a computer scientist’s bid for recognition of his artificial intelligence program as an inventor on patents.
The justices on Monday denied a petition for review filed by Stephen Thaler, who challenged US Patent and Trademark Office patent application rejections—covering a food container and a light beacon—because they listed his “creativity machine” DAUBUS as the creator.
