UK Medical-License Exam-Prep Firm Says Rival Copied, Defamed It

A UK medical-license exam-preparation company accused a rival of copying its questions, getting its Instagram shut down with false infringement claims, and defaming it.

Plabable Ltd. sued Delaware-based MedRevisions Inc. and its operator, foreign citizen Mohamed Shazni Thowseen, in the US District Court for the District of Delaware after a prior suit was dismissed for lack of jurisdiction. In its complaint, filed Feb. 27, Plabable said “more than several” of its exam questions remain on MedRevision’s site, and it accused Thowseen of filing the fraudulent Digital Millenial Copyright Act takedown notices and creating a defamatory “plabableisascam.com” website.
