Udio Says Indie Musicians’ AI Suit Doesn’t Belong in Illinois

AI music generator Udio urged dismissal of a copyright case brought against it in Illinois federal court, saying the court lacked jurisdiction over its business based in New York and incorporated in Delaware.

The suit over the AI firm’s model training process, brought by a group of indie musicians, includes a claim under an Illinois privacy law related to the storage of their voiceprints.
