Ubisoft Sues to Block ‘Assassin’s Creed’ Merchandise Knockoffs

Video game company Ubisoft Entertainment SA filed a federal lawsuit seeking to shut down online storefronts and websites that allegedly sell knockoff merchandise bearing the “Assassin’s Creed” video game trademarks.

Ubisoft simultaneously moved to file the list of names of the storefronts under seal, arguing that if the website operators learn of the court proceedings, that will likely result in the “destruction of relevant documentary evidence and the hiding or transferring of assets to foreign jurisdictions.”
