Uber Gets Win in Appeal of GPS Location-Sharing Patent Case

Uber Technologies Inc. won a reversal at the Federal Circuit of a Patent Trial and Appeal Board ruling that a patent asserted against it was valid.

The PTAB was wrong to find parts of the GPS-tracking patent valid because it used an “imprecise” interpretation, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit said Tuesday.
