Uber Can’t Shake Trademark Claims of Ad Agency With Same Name

Ride-sharing service Uber Technologies Inc. lost a bid to dismiss trademark infringement claims by advertising agency Uber Inc. after the Southern District of New York found a more developed factual record is needed to decide the claims.

The ad agency filed the suit after Uber Technologies announced it would begin displaying advertisements on vehicles’ digital signage, riders’ mobile apps, and on digital screens like electronic billboards, saying it would cause customer confusion.
