U.S. Court Awards $21 Million to ABS-CBN in Piracy Case

ABS-CBN Corp. was awarded about $21 million in trademark damages months after it sued dozens of websites which allegedly pirated its content in the U.S. and abroad, the Philippine media company said.

A Florida court ruled against 21 website operators, ordering them to pay $1 million each, while some of them were required to pay as much as $90,000 for copyright infringement, ABS-CBN said in a statement on Tuesday.
