Creative Artists Agency Must Face Show Theft Case From TV Writer

Creative Artists Agency failed to shake a lawsuit alleging it misappropriated the work of a former writer-client to help other clients develop a television series based on the same idea.

John Musero’s allegations against CAA and talent agents Andrew Miller and Leah Yerushalaim concerned protected speech activity, but weren’t sufficiently related to a matter of public interest to be subject to dismissal under California’s anti-SLAPP law, the California Court of Appeal, Second District, said.
