Crowdsource the Truth must face allegations brought by The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and its affiliates that its use of an image of the Emmy Award statuette in a video for its “Crony Awards” infringes the Academy’s copyrights and trademarks, a Manhattan federal judge ruled.
Multimedia System Design Inc., which does business as Crowdsource the Truth and is run by Jason Goodman, produces video content that “traffics in wild conspiracy theories,” Judge Valerie Caproni said in an opinion issued Friday for the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
