Trump, Campaign Sued by ‘Electric Avenue’ Musician Over Video

Musician Eddy Grant, who wrote and recorded the 1983 hit song “Electric Avenue,” sued President Trump and Donald J. Trump for President, Inc. in Manhattan federal court for copyright infringement on Tuesday, after they allegedly used the song in a video ridiculing Joe Biden without Grant’s permission.

Grant says President Trump tweeted a 55-second video on Aug. 12 showing a high-speed Trump-branded train in “stark contrast” to a slow-moving handcar powered by an animated likeness of Biden, which featured “Electric Avenue” playing in the background.
