Tribunal Cancels Part of Architectural Glass-Framing Patent

An administrative tribunal canceled parts of a patent at issue in a federal lawsuit in Los Angeles between rival architectural glass industry suppliers.

The Wednesday ruling from the US Patent and Trademark Office’s Patent Trial and Appeal Board pared back LA-based CR Laurence Co. Inc.'s lawsuit against Frameless Hardware Co. LLC, finding four claims in US Patent No. 9,074,413 are invalid as either anticipated by or obvious in light of previously issued patents.
