Trend Micro Refiles Open Text Suit Over Cybersecurity Patents

Trend Micro Inc. hit Open Text Corp. with patent infringement claims in Texas after a Virginia federal judge dismissed allegations over Open Text’s malware protection and artificial intelligence products infringing cybersecurity technology.

Open Text’s AI & Analytics, Webroot Wifi Security, BrightCloud Threat Intelligence Services, and other products use similar security methods as three patents owned by Trend Micro, according to a complaint filed Monday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.
