Trader Joe’s to Appeal Union’s Trademark Victory to 9th Cir.

Trader Joe’s Co. will appeal the dismissal of its trademark claims against a union of some of its employees to the Ninth Circuit.

The grocer filed a notice of appeal in the US District Court for the Central District of California less than a month after that court deemed its suit a bid to “weaponize” trademark law in a labor fight. Trader Joe’s United alleged the company’s infringement allegations over United merchandise on its website was retaliation for its organizing efforts.
