The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office launched a clearinghouse program to provide pro bono representation at Trademark Trial and Appeal Board proceedings.
The clearinghouses will coordinate free legal services to parties appearing before the TTAB and are in need of affordable legal assistance. The first clearinghouse the agency recognized for the program is run by the International Trademark Association. Other programs can apply and will be accepted on a rolling basis.
The agency announced Jan. 24 it would start offering pro bono services at the TTAB as part of an effort to provide economic relief from the coronavirus pandemic.
