Trademark Office Sanctions, Bans India-Based Legal Services Firm

The US Patent and Trademark Office banned an Indian international business-consulting firm from making trademark-related filings after finding it repeatedly forged an attorney signature in applications, among other rules violations.

Stelcore Management Services LLC, which provides trademark, copyright, tax, and other compliance services, will have any associated PTO accounts deactivated and at least 22 trademark applications voided, under a precedential final order for sanctions issued June 13. The decision, singed by deputy trademark commissioner Amy Colton on authority delegated from acting Director Coke Morgan Stewart, also said other filings later found to involve Stelcore would be nullified.
