The US Patent and Trademark Office has shrunk the timeline for applicants to respond to office actions for trademark applications to three months, from six, the PTO announced Monday.
The change applies to office actions for actions issued beginning Dec. 3. Applicants can also request one optional three-month extension for each office action.
The new response period will apply to post-registration trademark applications beginning October 7, 2023.
