Trade Agency Investigates Motorola, Lenovo for Patent Violations

The US International Trade Commission voted to investigate alleged patent violations of mobile phones, according to a Tuesday news release.

Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson filed the complaint on Oct. 11, supplemented on Oct. 31 and Nov. 9, and has requested a permanent limited exclusion order and permanent cease and desist orders, the commission said.

The USITC identified Motorola Mobility LLC, Lenovo (United States) Inc., Lenovo Group Limited, and Motorola (Wuhan) Mobility Technologies Communication Co., LTD., as the respondents.
