Toyota Hit With Patent Suit Over Autonomous Car Navigation (1)

Technology in Toyota Motor Corp. cars infringes three patents related to autonomous vehicle navigation, a complaint in the Eastern District of Texas alleges.

Toyota, Lexus, and Scion cars include navigation, cruise control, and collision avoidance technology that infringes American GNC Corp.'s patents, the May 14 complaint says.

American GNC Corp. is a technology company that specializes in “Guidance, Navigation, Control and Communications (GNCC), Inertial Sensors, Health Monitoring, Intelligent Processing, and Autonomous Robotics.”

AGNC’s complaint says that Toyota infringes U.S. Patent Nos. 6,311,555; 6,411,871; and 6,480,789 related to autonomous navigation and proximity warnings when vehicles are near potential hazards.
