Toyota Hit Again By Patent Owner Over E-Key Vehicle Technology

Emerging Automotive LLC filed another lawsuit accusing Toyota Motor Corp. of infringing its patents with user profiles and electronic key systems utilized in several vehicles.

Toyota and Lexus models incorporate remote connect technology similar to US Patent Nos. 11,104,245, 12,337,715 and 12,337,716, according to a complaint filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. Emerging Automotive said Toyota and its three units encourage and help customers infringe the protected systems by providing instructions and videos on how to use the technology.
