Kids2 Says Carter’s Skip Hop Activity Products Infringe Patent

Toy manufacturer Kids2 LLC filed a patent infringement suit against Carter’s Inc. and three of its units over the creation and sale of children’s exercise equipment.

Carter’s Skip Hop activity center products, including the Silver Lining Cloud gym, infringe US Patent No. 7,740,560, according tothe complaint filed Wednesday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. The William Carter Co., Carter’s Retail Inc. and Skip Hop Inc. are also named as defendants.

Kids2 said its patent was cited in the prosecution process of Skip Hop’s US Design Patent No. D896,356.
