Retired NFL quarterback Tom Brady moved to block an application to register a “B2" design as a clothing trademark, claiming it’s too similar to his “TB12" logo.
Brady’s company TBD TM, LLC said the registration sought by Shundra Brown Freeman would confuse consumers, as his TB12 registration covered identical and competing products, the Monday notice of opposition at the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board said. The stylized B2 is “nearly identical” to the trademarked TB12 logo, the filing said.
Whether Brady has a legal right to block the B2 mark will depend on whether the board determines there’s a likelihood ...
