TJ Maxx Sued by Dan Aykroyd-Backed Vodka Maker Over Skull Bottle

TJ Maxx was sued in Delaware federal court for allegedly selling skull-shaped glass bottles that infringe the design rights of the Crystal Head vodka brand, owned by a company co-founded by actor and entertainer Dan Aykroyd.

The complaint contained allegations of trade dress, copyright, and design patent infringement of Globefill Inc.'s crystal skull bottle, which it began selling in 2008.

The vodka bottle’s distinctive skull shape has become directly associated with the Crystal Head brand, according to the complaint filed in the US District Court for the District of Delaware.
