A Silicon Valley startup accused TikTok Pte. Ltd and its parent, ByteDance Ltd., of infringing seven patents that allegedly fuel features of the popular social media platform’s mobile apps.
Cellspin Soft Inc. said the TikTok, Lemon8, and Capcut mobile applications for Apple and Android smartphones use its patented technology to allow users to interact with the apps via Bluetooth-enabled peripherals, according to a complaint filed Friday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.
