Ticketmaster, Live Nation Get Ticketing Tech Patent Suit Tossed

Ticketmaster LLC and Live Nation Worldwide Inc. convinced a federal judge to throw out a lawsuit accusing them of infringing e-ticketing security technology.

Dynamic Ticket System LLC’s patents don’t contain inventive concepts that would transform abstract ideas into patent-eligible technology, Judge James V. Selna said in an order filed Wednesday in the US District Court for the Central District of California. Selna granted the companies’ May 23 motion to dismiss, which argued Dynamic’s amended complaint contains “irrelevant” allegations that don’t support patent eligibility.
