Ticketmaster Dodges $122 Million Ticketing System Patent Verdict

Ticketmaster LLC avoided a potential $122 million verdict, as a jury in Waco, Texas, concluded that company hadn’t ripped off a patent geared toward smoothing the process for transferring event tickets.

Global eTicket Exhange had filed a patent infringement lawsuit against the Live Nation Entertainment Inc. unit.

But after a four-day trial, jurors from the US District Court for the Western District of Texas found that Ticketmaster and a sister company hadn’t infringed any of the four claims from US Patent No. 8,849,720 asserted by GEE in the case.
