Thales to Buy Cybersecurity Firm Imperva for $3.6 Billion (1)

Thales SA agreed to buy US software maker Imperva in a deal valued at $3.6 billion including debt to bolster the French defense company’s cybersecurity business.

The acquisition from Imperva’s private equity owner, Thoma Bravo, is expected to close in early 2024 once it receives approval from regulators, Thales said in a statement Tuesday.

The Imperva deal will let Thales add cybersecurity services for apps, the company said. Thales has been looking for ways to expand in the market, which it called a “critical enabler” of the defense company’s other businesses. In June, the company also agreed to buy ...
