‘Texas Hammer’ Lawyer Gets Another Chance in Trademark Lawsuit

A Texas personal injury law firm and its founder—an attorney who sells himself on television, radio, and billboards as “The Hammer"—won another chance at his lawsuit claiming that two lawyer-referral companies infringe trademarks by buying keywords for search-engine advertising and placing ads that confused customers.

Jim S. Adler PC and its namesake, Jim Adler, market the practice using several trademarks, including “Jim Adler,” “The Hammer,” “Texas Hammer” and “El Martillo Tejano.”
