Tesla Wins Bid for Review of Two Autonomous Driving AI Patents

Tesla Inc. convinced an administrative tribunal to take a second look at two Autonomous Devices Inc. artificial intelligence patents its autopilot software is accused of infringing in an ongoing federal lawsuit.

The automaker sufficiently demonstrated that Autonomous Devices’ US Patent Nos. 10,452,974 and 11,238,344 could have been obvious or anticipated based on two previous patents, the Patent Trial and Appeal Board said in two decisions issued Wednesday.
