Tesla Sues EV Accessories Seller for Trademark Infringement

Tesla Inc. accused an aftermarket electric vehicle accessories seller of unlawfully using the Tesla trademark on its website and in advertisements, a complaint in Los Angles federal court said.

EV Everything sells accessories such as coat hangers, cushions, and weather mats that are meant to be used in Tesla vehicles.

But EV Everything’s website and advertisements prominently feature Tesla’s distinctive “T” mark and name, leading consumers to believe falsely that Tesla endorses the products, the complaint said. The products are sold under the Tesla car model names, which are trademarked, the company said.
