Tesla Hit With Design Patent, Trade Dress Suit Over Travel Mug

Seattle-based drinkware company MiiR Holdings LLC accused Tesla Inc. of copying its tumbler lid design and product appearance in a new lawsuit claiming design patent and product configuration trade dress violations.

The complaint, filed Thursday in the US District Court for the Western District of Washington, alleges that Tesla infringed US Design Patent No. D1,015,803 for a cup lid and copied the distinctive appearance of MiiR’s 360 Traveler Tumbler products.
