Tesla Sues Matthews International Over Inventorship Rights (1)

Tesla Inc. accused Matthews International Corp. of breaking a contract concerning the development of a system for manufacturing a dry battery electrode and denying the automotive company inventor status on the disputed patent.

Porter Mitchell, an engineer at Maxwell Technologies Inc., began working on a concept for “Film to Lamination” before the company was acquired by Tesla, according to a complaint filed Thursday in the US District Court for the Northern District of California.
