Spanish-language media giant TelevisaUnivision Inc. and its affiliate Televisa say multiple online streaming services plan to pirate their broadcasts of upcoming FIFA World Cup games in the United States.
The companies filed an “emergency” copyright and trademark suit on June 4, seeking a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction to “halt the ongoing and irreparable harm” to TU’s intellectual property rights, said their complaint filed in the US District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
