Televisa’s $95 Million FIFA Bribery Settlement Gets Final Nod

Grupo Televisa SAB ended class litigation over its alleged role in a FIFA bribery scheme when a federal court gave final approval to its $95 million settlement with shareholders.

Judge Louis L. Stanton of the US District Court for the Southern District of New York also approved an attorneys’ fee award of 30% of the settlement amount, or about $1.1 million, on Tuesday.

Televisa shares rose as much as 2.2% on the Mexican stock exchange following its announcement that the suit was over, according to Bloomberg News.

Televisa has long held lucrative Latin American broadcasting rights to soccer’s biggest tournaments. ...
