Teledyne’s Thermal Cameras Targeted by Finnish Lab’s Patent Suit

A Finnish research center accused Teledyne Technologies Inc. in a federal lawsuit of selling thermal-imaging cameras used in defense and industrial safety that rely on patented infrared-sensor technology without permission.

VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland Ltd., a research entity owned by the Finnish government that develops and licenses technology, alleges Teledyne’s Boson and Boson+ infrared-imaging cameras incorporate microbolometer-sensor technology covered by US Patent No. 8,498,618, according to a complaint filed Thursday in the US District Court for the District of Delaware.
