Tech Patents Asserted Against Intel, Samsung Valid, PTAB Says

Two patents covering thin-film technology used in semiconductor manufacturing are valid, an administrative tribunal ruled Wednesday, keeping the patents at play in litigation accusing Intel Corp. and Samsung Electronics Co. of infringing them.

Demaray LLC’s US Patent Nos. 7,544,276and 7,381,657, which broadly cover methods for conducting electricity, are not obvious in light of previous discoveries, the Patent Trial and Appeal Board said.
