TCL Sued by DivX Over Patent for Digital Streaming Technology

DivX is seeking to block imports of smart televisions from China-based TCL that can stream video to consumer electronics, according to a patent-infringement complaint filed at the U.S. International Trade Commission in Washington.

  • DivX claims some TCL’s Google- or Android-based products infringe patent related to adaptive bitrate streaming of multimedia files to consumer electronics devices over internet and aren’t subject to settlement and license agreement between DivX and non-party Roku
