TaylorMade Golf Sues Costco Over Patented Filled-Iron Clubs

Taylor Made Golf Co. alleges in a federal lawsuit that the Kirkland Signature Players Iron set of golf clubs sold by Costco Wholesale Corp. infringes five patents for TaylorMade’s popular P790 irons.

The design team for the Kirkland irons included an engineer who formerly worked at TaylorMade headquarters during the development of the P790, which “revolutionized the filled-iron category upon their 2017 launch,” according to a complaint filed Wednesday in the US District Court for the Southern District of California.
