A songwriter failed to address the reasons his copyright lawsuit against Taylor Swift over “Shake It Off” was tossed, the Ninth Circuit said as it affirmed dismissal.
Taylor Swift thwarted R&B and soul artist Jesse Graham, who represented himself, in his third lawsuit accusing the megastar of ripping off his chorus “Haters gone hate +Haters gone hate, Playas gone play Playas gone play.”
Graham’s suit was dismissed because essentially the same claim had already been dismissed with prejudice and he’d failed to allege he had a registered copyright.
