Tata Consultancy Owes CSC $210 Million for Trade Secret Misuse

Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. owes a DXC Technology Corp. unit $210 million for misusing two insurance software platforms’ trade secrets, a Texas federal jury decided.

The jury in the US District Court for the Northern District of Texas determined Nov. 17 that Computer Sciences Corp. owns source code and confidential documentation for its Wealth Management Accelerator and Cyberlife software platforms and that TCS acquired it without CSC’s consent by “improper means.” The platforms help manage large portfolios of life insurance and annuity policies, according to court records.
