Target Facing Trademark Suit by Feminist Clothing Brand

Women’s apparel company Wildfang Co. sued Target Corp. in Oregon federal court, alleging Target’s “Wild Fable” women’s clothing line infringes its trademarks.

The Tuesday complaint says Target also copied Wildfang’s brand concept of enabling women to dress however they want by focusing Wild Fable on “self-expression and inclusivity.”

Wildfang has been making feminist-themed apparel and menswear tailored to fit women’s bodies since 2013. It sells goods online, has physical stores in New York, Los Angeles, and Portland, Ore., and partners with brands including REI.
