Talkdesk Wipes Out Six of Seven Intelligent Agent, Bot Patents

Talkdesk Inc. convinced a federal magistrate judge in California to invalidate all or parts of six patents the customer-service platform allegedly infringed that cover the idea of using an intelligent agent or bot to help groups of users record and transcribe conversations.

Magistrate Judge Virginia K. DeMarchi of the US District Court for the Northern District of California agreed that Orion Labs Tech LLC’s claims from six of the seven patents asserted against Talkdesk are abstract and therefore ineligible for protection under Section 101 of the Patent Act.
