Taiwanese Acer Sues VW Over Patent Issues: WiWo (1)

Taiwanese computer manufacturer Acer filed a lawsuit against VW in the U.S. for alleged violation of mobile communication patents, Wirtschaftswoche reports.

• Suit claims that VW only bought patents for 2G and 3G for built-in telecommunication systems but in past years has largely installed mobile chips with 4G technology in its cars
• VW will examine the complaint, decide on further action together with its supplier: press service tells Bloomberg in emailed statement
  • “After an initial review, we already have indications that the insinuations and allegations made in the complaint are unfounded and will defend our position”
