Taco Bell’s Vampire Sauce Infringes Trademarks, Complaint Says

Taco Bell’s new Vampire Sauce and Vampire Fries infringe trademarks owned by a company that markets food under the “Vampire” name, a July 16 complaint in the Central District of California says.

Vampire Family Brands began using the “Vampire” mark to sell wine in 1988, and has since grown to use the mark on products like chocolate, coffee, and olive oil, the complaint says. Vampire says it also licenses its “Vampire Taco” trademark to approximately 70 restaurants, and plans to use the mark on foods including hot sauce.
