T-Mobile’s Sprint Loses Patent Ruling to Charter on ‘Send-to-TV’

Charter Communications Inc.’s Send-to-TV feature, which allows users of an app on mobile devices to play video-on-demand content on their televisions, doesn’t infringe two patents held by T-Mobile US Inc.’s Sprint, a federal judge in Delaware ruled Monday.

Overland, Kan.-based Sprint had alleged that Sprint customers using the Spectrum Guide program in legacy Charter markets and those using the program in legacy Time Warner Cable and Bright House Networks markets infringe the patents. Sprint was seeking cash compensation and an order blocking further unauthorized use of its inventions.
