Synopsys Sues Real Intent Over Chip-Design Software Patents

Synopsys Inc. accused Real Intent Inc.’s circuit-design verification software tools of infringing six patents for technology that catches timing errors and signal glitches before computer chips are manufactured.

Real Intent’s Meridian CDC tool infringes US Patent Nos. 8,607,173, 9,792,394, 8,650,513, 8,359,560, 10,289,773, and 9,529,948, and its SafeConnect tool infringes the ‘394 patent, according to a complaint docketed Monday in the US District Court for the District of Delaware. The six patents’ expirations range from May 2031 to October 2037, Bloomberg Law estimates.
