Sutter Home Says Wholesaler Infringes ‘Napa Cellars’ Trademark

A wine wholesaler’s “Clos de Napa Cellars” brand infringes Sutter Home’s “Napa Cellars” trademark, according to an Oct. 2 complaint in the Northern District of California.

Tri-Vin Imports Inc. falsely identifies its wine as being associated with Napa Cellars, Sutter Home says.

Sutter Home says it’s been using the Napa Cellars mark to advertise wine since 1982. Sutter Home says Tri-Vin has been advertising its “Clos de Napa Cellars” wine using the “Napa Cellars” name and design mark in fliers, internet ads, and on its website.
