Supreme Court Declines to Hear Schwab Patent Invalidity Case

The US Supreme Court will not review a Texas judge’s invalidation of three automatic account transfer patents in support of The Charles Schwab Corp.

Schwab and its four units are defending against Island Intellectual Property LLC’s patent infringement allegations concerning TD Ameritrade products. A Texas federal judge granted Schwab’s motion for summary judgment and invalidated US Patent Nos. 7,509,286, 7,519,551 and 7,933,821 and an appellate court affirmed the judgment by solely stating “affirmed.”
