Supernus Pharmaceuticals Inc. won a ruling that blocks Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd.’s proposed copies of Trokendi XR through the 2027 expiration of three patents for the epilepsy treatment that a federal judge found they infringe.
Torrent’s version of the drug infringes US Patent Nos. 8,992,989; 9,549,940; and 9,622,983, according to Judge Georgette Castner’s order issued Tuesday in the US District Court for the District of New Jersey. A redacted version of Castner’s opinion, filed concurrently under temporary seal, isn’t yet available.
