Streamscale Scores $240 Million Patent Verdict Against Cloudera

StreamScale Inc. won a $240 million verdict for patent infringement against California software company Cloudera Inc.

StreamScale, which was started by inventor Michael Hamilton Anderson, filed suit in March 2021 against Cloudera, Intel Corp., and several other companies in the US District Court for the Western District of Texas’ Waco Division. StreamScale accused the defendants of infringing patents relating to cloud-based data storage.

Intel and others were dropped from the case, but StreamScale proceeded to trial this week against Cloudera.
